Scarborough Athletic are hoping that their fans can help the club to finish the season in style against Retford United on Saturday.

As well as being on the verge of promotion with two games remaining, the club are also very close to breaking even financially for the season.

Boro host Retford on Saturday in their final home game of the season, which will be a week before their last fixture, a clash on the road at Glasshoughton.

Financial director Geoff Osguthorpe is calling for one final push from the supporters to set them up ahead what could be a debut season in the Evo-Stik League next season.

To boost the gate Boro have introduced an offer to let all youngsters under the age of 11 into the ground free of charge.

Osguthorpe said: “We were overwhelmed by the support at Brighouse, if you look at it, we took more fans than some Football League clubs take to away games.

“The support was amazing and I’m sure it played a huge part in spurring the players on to the victory.

“Our ultimate aim is to break even for the season and we are really not far away from that at this moment in time.

“This is despite the fact that we have had a few unexpected costs this season that we have had to pay out.

“It would be great if we could get a good crowd down for the final home game of the season because that could make sure that we hit that break-even figure.”
