Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk expects to sign a former Champions League defender after tomorrow’s clash against Hall Road Rangers.
Struggling Rangers visit Queensgate with Boro in top form, and the leaders will be further boosted by the news of an imminent big-name addition to the squad.
Funk said: “We hope to bring in a centre half with a fantastic pedigree after tomorrow’s game against Hall Road.
“We can’t name him just yet but he trained with us last night and will be at the game tomorrow.
“There are one or two details to finalise but he will be a massive signing for us and he will bring experience and strength to our defence with Sam Denton out injured for a long period of time.
“He has been a professional all his life and has played in the Champions League and Football League and we hope to get it finalised and get him on board.”
