Scarborough FC legend Steve Brodie has piled praise on Scarborough Athletic’s signing of coach John Reed.
Brodie, now 40, turned out for Reid at both Stalybridge and Buxton before stepping into retirement.
The former striker, now a sports manager at David Lloyd in Cheshire, struck 54 goals in just over 180 games for the old club before joining Swansea City in 2001.
“John is a great bloke and he was a great manager to play for,” said Brodie.
“I first played for him at Stalybridge and then he took me to Buxton. He is very experienced and he will have plenty of contacts in the game.
“I’m sure he will be a great edition to their coaching staff.”
