The Scarborough College Junior School Year Five and Six girls have snapped up premiership success.
The under-11s took part in the girls’ football league competition organised by the Scarborough & District Primary Schools Sports Association.
After the qualifying rounds in the Christmas term, the team were placed in the Champions division where they played matches on grass, the astroTurf at Pindar and indoors and were promoted to the premier division.
The Premiership play-offs took placed early in the summer term where the girls drew with Gladstone Road but defeated Friarage and Newby in very exciting matches to win the title and receive the Premier winners trophy.
Scarborough College teacher and coach Gill Winspear said: “The girls have worked hard at their football all year and are a very promising team.
“They are delighted to have won this title and I would like to thank all the staff from the Sports Association who were involved in organising this competition.”
