Things may not be going our way at the moment, but we still have a lot left to look forward to in the final couple of weeks of the season.
We are staying in games for long periods, but our problem at the moment is that we just can’t score the goals to put them to bed.
We had three or four good chances on Tuesday at Mossley, but for one reason or another we are just not on song.
A great example of that was when Niall Flint played the ball into the box with their keeper nowhere to be seen. Steve Mallory’s shot would have gone in, but it hit Ryan Blott and bounced to safety.
We are also lacking a bit of concentration at times, but we are working hard to rectify these things.
There were a lot of positives from Tuesday and there are people I would like to thank.
Firstly Chris Bolder and myself would like to say a big thank you to the club’s chairman Dave Holland. He turned up, was the kit man, the secretary and the chairman.
A lot of people don’t see the hard work that Dave does, he does deserve a lot of credit for it.
I would also like to thank the travelling supporters, who were great.
It was a good drive for them to this game, but they still turned out and sung their hearts out.
I’m hoping that we get a good response from our fans in our final two games of this season, at Burscough on Saturday and then in the Doodson Sports Trophy at Farsley the following Friday.
Their support is a big help to the players and everyone at the club.
We now have a busy week ahead of us that we are all looking forward to.
There is Saturday’s game, we will be having a training session in midweek to get things in order, and then we’ll be ready for the cup final.
