PICKERING Town boss Mitch Cook feels there is much more to come from his young side as they continue to pick up NCEL Premier experience.

The Pikes continued to flex their muscles as they saw off a highly-fancied Bridlington Town in a thriller that ended 5-4.

This result kept the Pikes on the verge of the top few, but Cook will not be looking at the table for some time to come.

He said: “We are not looking at how far we can go, we are just looking at next weekend’s game and focusing on winning that.

“We were up against the best team in the league on Saturday, a side which contained some very experienced players.

We are closing in on them now after that victory, and our experience is coming all the time.

“You gain experience from playing and we are playing well at the moment.

“They are establishing themselves at this level and the confidence is there.

“When you are winning it is hard to stop winning and that seems to be the case for us at the moment.

“We will keep our focus though, keep working hard as a team and hopefully this run will continue.”
