Midfielder Tom Davie has left Scarborough Athletic

Boro boss Rudy Funk revealed the news following his side’s 3-0 Evo-Stik South triumph over Carlton Town on Saturday.

Funk told The Scarborough News: “Tom has been unhappy recently so I felt that for the good of the club it would be best if he moved on.

“He was disappointed to be on the bench last Saturday, which I understand, but he carried this disappointment into training on Thursday.

“I have to put the good of the club first and having a player who is not happy in our squad is not good for anyone.”

Davie joined Boro on loan from North Ferriby United in September last year and made his debut in the home defeat to Sheffield FC.

During his time at the club, Davie netted eight goals in all competitions.
