Luke Delve struck seven goals as Newlands gave themselves some hope of bagging the Sunday League division one title.

Joe Hakings’ team moved level on points and within four goals of rivals Trafalgar after they crushed Strongwood 18-0.

Delve gave Strongwood a torrid time, while Ben Luntley also chipped in with four of his team’s goals.

There were hat-tricks for Ryan Cooper and Kile Fields, with Jordan Mintoft adding the other.

In division three, West Riding Reserves edged their way to a surprise 3-2 win against understrength Newlands Reserves.

Jakob Flisnik handed Newlands the advantage, only for Billy Johnson to level the game up.

Flisnik added his second, but a finish from Adam Martin once again restored parity.

With five minutes remaining, Mark Reddy beat his man and slotted into the bottom corner to hand impressive Riding all the points.
