Saturday League side Duchess have been forced to fold due to a lack of players, following a tough season.
The club, formerly known as Ivanhoe, Tennyson and Flixton, struggled to raise a side on many occasions, even playing one game with seven players in the latter stages of the campaign.
Long-serving player, secretary and manager Mick Stephenson said: “The players just aren’t coming through any more.
“It’s a shame to see a club with so much history having to fold, but I wasn’t going to carry on as secretary next year and I know we’ve struggled for players too.”
Stephenson is organising a players’ reunion for anyone who played for the club in its various guises.
The event will run alongside the club’s presentation night at the Tennyson on Saturday June 3, starting at 6.45pm.
