Former Scarborough FC prospect Danny Gildea is making waves across the pond after starring in a national advert.
Gildea's coaching school GPS Soccer Assassins had been getting plenty of feedback and exposure on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, leading to American retailer We Got Soccer to hire him to advertise the current England football shirt in their latest commercial.
"It just came through my Instagram and social media, they recognised that I was getting quite a bit of exposure," said Gildea.
"That got me a partnership with We Got Soccer, who are a nationwide outlet that have some of the largest online sales in the US."
The advert will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, Fox, NBC, NBC Sports, CBS Sports, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes as well as at www.wegotsoccer.com
The former Scalby School pupil has been based in the US for a number of years and now lives in Boston.
He recently worked with Adidas Soccer and on an Umbro set with New York City FC and US men's national team star Mix Diskerud.
