Scarborough Athletic have boosted their numbers further ahead of this weekend’s NCEL Premier away day at Winterton.

As well as adding defender Sam Denton and midfielder Ollie Banks, boss Rudy Funk is also looking to complete the signing of Barton Town striker Ray Ford tonight.

In addition to this, Funk has also signed reserve team players Eric Hall, Danny Baldry and Niall Gibb on first team forms.

The Boro boss said: “Ray is an ex-Hull City youngster, who scored a lot of goals when he first signed for Barton. Since then he has gone off the boil slightly, but maybe he needs the change that we will be offering him.

“He will come in up tops to give us some back-up, which is what we need.

“We have also signed on a few reserve team players and maybe their chance will come in the next few weeks.

“We want to see what they can and can’t do. You have to be nice and steady with this, but they have earned their chance to progress
