Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk was delighted with the way his players bounced back to thrash Worksop Parramore on Saturday afternoon.
Boro turned on the style at Queensgate, just a handful of days after a terrible performance against Redcar that saw them stumble out of the North Riding FA Senior Cup.
“Funk said: That was a great performance, we played really well. It was difficult before the game to brush away the disappointment of Tuesday night, but the lads took onboard what we said.
“When we lose there will be very harsh words, but our win against Worksop was the best performance I have seen from our players since I arrived at the club.
“We saw some outstanding goals and some outstanding football against a very good Worksop side.
“The fact that we had six different scorers was something that a manager dreams of.
“Sometimes you rely on your talisman, like we have in Ryan Blott, who scores week in and week out.
“Today we scored from the back-line in Denny Ingram and Matty Plummer, Pete Davidson in midfield and the front lads have put goals away as well.
“This was our day. It was great for every single person who came through the turnstiles.
“I am thrilled for the players, the staff, the chairman and board members because it was a good day to be involved with Scarborough Athletic.”
