Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk has hit out at the negativity mongers who are marring his side’s preparations for the new Evo-Stik South campaign.
A small minority of supporters have been speculating about a number of things, including the wages of his new additions after promotion from the NCEL Premier.
Funk has called for fans to ditch any negative thoughts and for them to leap on the positive wave that is currently surrounding Boro.
He said: “I hate negativity, I like the fans to be upbeat.
“We need to stop dealing in negativity and speculation, we need to deal in fact.
“The facts are that in our first season we finished third and then in our second season we finshed as champions.
“The fact is also that we have signed some fantastic players for the new season.
“We need to stick together and if we can do that we will eliminate that negitive one per cent of people who think they are being clever.
“If people think we have overspent or if people think we have brought in rubbish players then they need to point think finger at me and say it.
“If anyone isn’t sure about something then they can ask me, don’t guess because the only important thing is the facts.
“The fans need to get onboard, support us and enjoy the ride because it will be a great ride.
“If you look at the lads we have brought in and then throw the lads that have committed, like Ryan Blott, Andy Milne, Tony Hackworth, Ollie Ryan, Pete Davidson and all of the others, you have to say what a great side we have.
