Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk is keen to have sit-down talks with Jimmy Beadle over the next few weeks.
Beadle this week revealed to The Scarborough News that he was mulling over retirement from the game at the end of the season.
Funk is yet to speak to the former Scarborough FC midfielder over his decision, but he hoping to change his mind as Beadle has been an integral part of Boro’s push for glory this season.
The Boro boss said: “I have had a bit of a laugh about Jimmy’s decision, but you have to respect his views.
“Jimmy is a very passionate lad and he has shown that since he joined us earlier this season.
“He has added another dimension to our play on the park, if I’m honest he has been superb.
“We all have to remember that different people have different things going on in their lives and things change which can make them want to call it a day.
“I want to have a sit down and a chat with Jimmy in the not too distant future and we’ll see what is going on.”
