Scarborough Athletic manager Rudy Funk has praised his players after they fought back from 2-0 down to beat New Mills at Queensgate on Saturday.
He said: “The fashion in which we won the game deep into stoppage time was just electrifying.
“We found ourselves two goals down after 24 minutes so we made one or two little tactical changes and came back in style.
“I have nothing but admiration for this group of players, they’ve shown great belief to come from behind in the last two games and claim two great victories.”
Funk admitted that he was surpised by his charges’ slow start to proceedings.
He added: “I have to be honest, it was a really tough afternoon. Having played so well to beat Harrogate in our last game I didnt expect us to start the game so badly.
“Even at 2-2, when you miss so many chances you start to wonder if it might not be your day. We have a huge amount of belief in our players though, I always felt we could get the winner.”
The Boro supremo revealed that he has drawn plenty of positives from the opening three fixtures of the new campaign.
Funk continued: “People are forgetting that we are newcomers in a very tough division. If you had offered me six points from the opening three matches I’d definitely have taken that.
“We have done a lot of things well. Okay, we have conceded goals, but I think the opposition deserve credit for that.
“We’ve been up against some good sides with some great strikers in their ranks, particularly the two from Salford City.
“I’m certainly not panicking, it is early days and overall I’m really pleased with how we’ve started the season.”
