Third division newcomers Goal Sports will be looking to win silverware at the first attempt when they meet Edgehill Reserves in the final of the League Trophy next week.

The sides meet at Pickering Town’s Mill Lane ground on Wednesday, 7.30pm kick-off.

Player-boss Plumpton said: “I’m proud of the squad for getting us to the final, especially considering we’ve had some tough games getting there, beating Seamer Reserves and then Fishburn with 10 men for an hour.

“It’s been a squad effort. I just hope our lads play with confidence, put in a peformance and do themselves proud.

“If they do that I am confident we can win it.

Two teams also fairly new to the league will also be vying for cup joy on Easter Monday as Sherburn and Itis Itis Rovers meet in the Frank White Trophy Final at Seamer, 12noon kick-off.
