Edgehill defender Lloyd Henderson will be in Scarborough Athletic’s squad for the friendly against Tadcaster Albion on Saturday after continually impressing joint-boss Bryan Hughes.
This will mean that Henderson has been involved in all three of Boro’s games at Scarborough RUFC’s Silver Royd.
Turning out for the Saturday League Rep side in the first, playing against Accrington in the second and then tackling NCEL Premier side Tadcaster in Saturday’s third at 2pm.
Hughes said: “We think that Lloyd could have a big future with us.
“He is a good size, athletic and technically good.
“He got done when he gave away the penalty for Accrington’s second goal, but he was up against Josh Windass, who is a player that is being watched by a good number of clubs in the top two tiers of English football.
“That will be part of a learning curve for him and good experience as well.
“He looked calm on the ball against players from League Two and at the age of 20 he has potential to go on.”
With Tadcaster being the final game of pre-season in Scarborough before the return to Bridlington, Hughes is hoping for a big turn-out for the battle with Tadcaster.
He added: “It has been a good week because we love playing in Scarborough.
“It has given the fans a taste of the future and we are hoping to sign off this week with a win.
“The fans have a huge role to play this season in our push for promotion from the Evo-Stik North and we are hoping that this whets the appetite.
“It won’t be easy though because Tadcaster are a side on the up.”
