Heroes clash for Athletic

WITH Scarborough Athletic’s home NCEL Premier game against Brighouse being in doubt for tomorrow, Boro’s staff have a different fixture lined up for tomorrow evening.

Manager Rudy Funk and his assistant Denny Ingram will both be attending a Help the Heroes dinner and Scarborough Rugby Club, with kick being at 7pm.

A total of around 150 people will be attending the bash to raise funds for Catterick Garrison Rehabilitation Centre.

Funk said: “I can’t wait to go because I don’t think we do enough for our soliders.

“When we are sitting at home watching our TVs they are out doing their bit for their country and us.

“It is great to be able to give something back to these heroes.”
