Phoenix lost 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out in their cup game at home to Ayton Athletic on Sunday.

After a quiet first half, Ayton stepped up a gear, but defender Joseph igno and keeper Tom Hutchinson kept Phoenix in the tie.

After extra-time the sides were still locked at 0-0 with John Nuneza earning the man-of-the-match award for a top display for Phoenix.

The shoot-out went down to the last penalty which finally saw Ayton winners 3-2.
