York City and former Scarborough FC striker Michael Coulson has selected Ian Ironside as his top keeper in our quest to assemble the all-time Boro team,

Scarborough-born Coulson said: “Got to be Ian ironside. I grew up drinking Irons Brew in the Cow Shed and he was part of the most successful Scarborough team I watched.

“A top goalkeeper, always seemed reliable and filled the team with confidence.”

Over the next few weeks The Scarborough News are giving YOU the chance to pick your best-ever Boro team.

Kicking off with goalkeepers, we will be moving through the positions in each edition to finally compile the fans’ best team of players to grace the Athletic Ground or Queensgate.

It is the chance to sift through the ups and downs of being a Boro fan, from the days of the FA Trophy to the relegation from the Football League and beyond.
