Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot will take over from departing Scarborough Athletic manager with immediate effect.
The duo had been working as Funk’s assistants before his resignation on Monday night at Harrogate Railway.
They will take charge of the game at home to Northwich on Saturday and then the club will assess their performance over the next few weeks.
Chairman Dave Holland said: “I have spoken to Bryan and Paul and they will be taking over as joint-managers.
“Having spent time in the changing room I can tell that they both have the support of the players.
“They are new to this, but obviously we want them to succeed. We’ll give them a few weeks and see how the players respond.”
Holland isn’t expecting a player exodus to cause problems in the early tenure of Hughes and Foot.
He added: “Players always leave the club, when Rudy was in charge some didn’t fit into Rudy’s plans and he helped them on their way.
“A lot will depend on whether they were playing for Rudy or whether they were playing for the club.
“I’m sure that Bryan and Paul will be taking steps to talk to every player anyway.
“If any do leave then you have to ask the question if they were right for the club anyway.”
