Saturday’s horror injury to Scarborough Athletic midfielder Chris Bolder has obviously come as a huge blow to joint-boss Bryan Hughes.
Hughes has revealed that Bolder is back at home now after being discharged from Scarborough Hospital on Saturday night. He now hopes that the former Grimsby Town and North Ferriby man can make a swift recovery from what looks to be knee ligament damage.
He said: “He came out of hospital on Saturday night, but we are still waiting to find out the extent of the damage.
“His knee was dislocated, but that has gone back in now. He will be having an MRI scan on the knee and that will tell us what has happened.
“It is a massive blow to the club. Since Paul Foot and I took over as joint managers Chris has really stepped up to the plate, he has been a tower of strength.
“I’m gutted for him because he’s a great lad, the sort you need in your changing room.
“Hopefully they’ll be able to assess the damage sooner rather than later to allow Chris to make a quick recovery.”
