PICKERING Town have been hit by two more injury blows.
Attacker Lyle Hillier was carried off during Saturday’s 4-2 NCE premier division home success against Arnold Town with a nasty ankle injury, while Nathan Cook limped out of Monday night’s under-19s defeat at Harrogate Railway with a nasty knee injury.
This follows on from injuries to Liam Salt and Darren Clough, which have ruled the pair out for the rest of the season.
Boss Mitch Cook said: “It was a rough game and some of their tackling was a bit over the top.
“Lyle is a tough lad though and we are hoping he will be alright to return in the next few weeks.
“As for Nathan we are hopeful he will be back soon.”
They return to action tomorrow at lowly Dinnington Town.
Boss Cook added: “It is another game against a side scrapping for survival.
“If we play to our potential and turn in the sort of performance we are capable of them I think we should be alright.”
Should the Pikes pick up all the points tomorrow then they could leap back into the top 10 of the table.
Bridlington Town will be hoping to take a step closer to securing the league title with a win at leaders Farsley tomorrow afternoon.
