In in era when football coaching is rife, goalkeepers still seem to be left until the last 10 minutes of sessions when everyone blasts balls at them.
Former Cambridge United stopper Andy Phillips is looking to put a stop to that after setting up his goalkeeping school at the end of last year.
Operating in Malton and York at the moment, Phillips is keen to start working in Scarborough with the town’s young goalkeeping prospects.
Our session with the George Pindar Community College team’s keepers was thorough and the young stoppers seemed to enjoy it, while picking up some new tips from Andy.
Andy said: “Goalkeeping coaching is something that I never had when I was younger.
“It is great that I can help out young keepers with some good fundamentals and that these young keepers won’t be neglected now.”
Andy is running a course in York from April 8-11, anyone wanting details should call him on 07867 545483 or email email@example.com
