SCARBOROUGH Athletic are on the look-out for a keeper ahead of tonight’s President’s Cup trip to Thackley.
Regular stopper Tom Woodhead is still struggling with a toe injury, while Tom Nicholson, who turned out in the 4-4 draw against Hallam on Saturday is unavailable.
Boss Paul Olsson has cast his net across the area and he is confident of having a new face between the sticks in time for kick off.
He said: “Tom Woodhead won’t be fit in time and Tom Nicholson can’t play, so we are in a bit of a quandary.
“I have been in touch with one lad and we should get things sorted with him.”
Olsson is also without midfielder Gary Hepples, who is cup-tied, while Brent Leister is bidding to get over a thigh strain.
Boro will welcome winger Joel Hartley back into the squad after he was left out on Saturday.
Olsson added: “We’ll have Joel back in there after he was left out.
“I spoke to him before the game on Saturday and told him the situation.
“He showed good attitude, took it well and he is raring to go now.
“It was disappointing on Saturday because we had done well in the first 70 minutes, after that we just fell apart.
“We have spoken about it, the players got a bit off their chests as well.
“There are no excuses, we shouldn’t have drawn the game, we all know that.
“Now we have to put it behind us and look to push on for the rest of the season.”
Boro booked their place in the second round of the competition when they beat Arnold Town 2-1 in Nottinghamshire. Frank Belt and Craig Palmer were on target for Athletic in that game.
