Long-serving Scarborough Athletic defender Andy Milne has made the switch to NCEL Premier club Tadcaster Albion.

Milne originally signed for Boro in August of 2012 and went on to make 85 starts, scoring five goals from defence.

Boss Rudy Funk said: “Andy rang me and explained that he had been given a job by Tadcaster, which meant that he would be playing for them as well.

“Everyone at the club wishes him well because he has been terrific.

“Andy wasn’t just a run of the mill player, he was one of our main defenders.

“He has left on good terms though, the door is always open for him if he wants to come back.”

Funk has promised that news of new players will be forthcoming.

He added: “As and when we can reveal any news then we will straight away.

“I can tell you that Paul Foot, Bryan Hughes and myself are all working very hard.”
