Saturday League division one high-flyers Newlands Park are set to break several records this season as one of their strikers has plundered 42 goals in just 12 games.
Former Bridlington Town and Pickering Town man Billy Logan has dropped into the local leagues this season and has set a blazing goal trail behind him, his eight goals against Westover Wasps Reserves in Park’s 15-1 cup win on Saturday boosting his tally significantly.
His manager Shaun Mancrief was quick to compare him to former Manchester United and Barcelona forward Mark Hughes (pictured).
Park boss Mancrief said: “Billy just wants to enjoy his football and play centre-forward, which is his best position.
“The higher level teams want to play him at full-back and he’s enjoying playing up front.
“He plays like Mark Hughes. He’s strong and has a powerful finish on him too.
“He hasn’t set any targets for the season, he’s just enjoying playing his football and will see where he ends up.”
