SCARBOROUGH Athletic boss Paul Olsson was delighted by his side’s crushing 4-1 NCEL Premier home win against Liversedge.
Boro now look to have put behind them a shaky run of form after the club completed back-to-back home wins.
Olsson said: “It is always nice to get a couple of wins under your belt.
“The confidence that can bring is amazing.
“The lads have knuckled down and worked hard, which is exactly what I asked of them.
“I didn’t think that we were as bright and as sharp as we should have been in the first half.
“There were a few occasions when their strikers were given a lot of room and we didn’t deal with things.
“Despite the fact that we were 3-1 up at the break, I thought the lads needed a bit of a telling off at the break. That happened and it seemed to work.
“After the break we played some good stuff and scored a couple of good goals. In the end it was comfortable.
“There were some good individual performances.
“I thought the two centre-backs Chris Jenkinson and Mike Gibson did well, our midfield also battled and impressed me.”
Olsson was also impressed with the performance of striker Richard Medcalf, who burst from the bench to score two goals.
He added: “Richard has reacted brilliantly to being left out of the squad.
“It is exactly what we wanted from him.”
