SCARBOROUGH Athletic boss Paul Olsson is closing in on a number of targets, but none will be in place for tonight’s NCEL Premier clash at home to Tadcaster Albion.
Olsson is looking to strengthen his squad after a run of mediocre results, which have seen his side slip off the pace.
A number of players have made their way out of Queensgate in recent weeks as well, so Olsson is on the look-out for a much-needed boost.
He said: “We have a few irons in the fire at the moment and I’m hoping to have a bit of news on some new arrivals by next week.
“I went to watch a couple of players over the weekend and one of them will come down and train with us on Thursday because we want to take another look at him.”
Olsson is hoping that the postponement of Saturday’s fixture at Dinnington will allow time for a few bumps and bruises to disperse.
He added: “We have played three tough games on three sticky pitches, so a few of the lads have a few strains.
“Hopefully everyone will be at 100 per cent for the Tadcaster game because it is a big fixture for us.
“Not only is there plenty of local interest, but we also want to give ourselves a boost in the shape of three points.
“We need a performance because they have been going well, and that is what I will be demanding from the players.
