ACE Paddy Mancrief hit a treble as Newlands hammered first division rivals Filey Town 8-0 in the third round of the Coastal Shellfish League Cup.
Sean Exley chipped in with a brace for the winners in a game played at the George Pindar Community Sports College. in Eastfield.
Matty Shone, Stu Bates and Matty Gallagher were also on target for Sean Mancrief’s side.
Nick Beal impressed for the winners who were never in any trouble.
Filey boss Dave Brannan was not pleased with his side.
He said: “I expect a lot better because some players did not even turn up.
“Filey Town need players who want to play and I hope they realise that they have let everyone down.”
Mancrief added: “We were 6-0 up at half-time and played very well. All the lads put in a good performance and we deserved to win.”
Eastfield enjoyed a fine away trip to Brotton Railway Arms in the third round of the North Riding FA Saturday Challenge Cup as they won 8-0.
Eric Hall was the man of the moment as he came off the bench to register a hat-trick.
The game was goalless at the break but Drew McCoubrey opened the scoring for Kev David’s side. Nick Heggarty also showed his form by netting a brace aas Eastfield booked their spot in the quarter-finals.
Manager David, taking charge of his first game since stepping in for Nigel Salt, said: “It was a great performance and the lads have done me proud.
“Damian Devine and Kris Tate need a special mention because they did well.”
