Alex Peterson has pledged his services to Scarborough Athletic this season.
The striker, who left Doncaster Rovers at the beginning of the summer, has been involved with Boro’s first two pre-season fixtures at Barton and Hull United.
After discussions with Boro joint-bosses Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot the striker has opted to sign forms with the club and focus his attentions on the new Evo-Stik North season.
Peterson joins fellow frontmen Ryan Blott, Gary Bradshaw and Tom Corner in the attacking ranks.
Foot said: “Alex has said that he’s staying with us, which is fantastic news for us and the club.
“This means that we now have four very good and very different strikers, which is what we have been looking for.
“The task will be to keep them all happy, but we have a formation that could allow us to play all four at the same time.
“Gary has shown his adaptability, Ryan can play in the hole if required and we could have the big two up top.
“I’m confident that they will all buy into it because we are a club looking for success.
“Having spoken to Ryan he is happy to have the challenge, while Gary has been in the gym - he’s probably the fittest he’s ever been.
“Alex commented on how good Tom was in the game against Barton, so he accepts that he’s going to have to battle for his place.
“At the moment we have four very hungry strikers and you can’t beat that.”
