HOT-SHOT ... West Pier ace Paul Provins

WEST Pier can take a major step towards clinching the first division championship crown if they defeat Eastfield away from home tomorrow.

Pier picked up a massive victory over Edgehill last weekend with striker Paul Provins netting the all-important goal.

That result saw Andy Spivey’s charges move three points clear of their nearest rivals Edgehill and with a game in hand over Steve Clegg’s troops.

Edgehill are also in action and face a massive game against struggling Fishburn Park, which both teams must win to help their respective causes.

Whitby Fishermen’s bid for promotion from the second division could receive a big push if they pick up three points at Edgehill Reserves.

Snainton are among the promotion hopefuls in division three and they face a tough task away at Westover Wasps, who can’t go up even if they win this match, but will want to finish as high as possible.

Falsgrave FC are sitting top of the division and they are at home to Whitby RUFC in a match which could seal them the title depending on other results.

FC Soba still have an outside chance of winning the league and they will be away to Seamer Sports Reserves.
