Pickering Town have made a cheeky bid to recapture former skipper Tommy Adams from Scarborough Athletic.
Town boss Jimmy Reid has put seven days in for midfielder Adams, who has slotted superbly into the Boro line-up since joining in pre-season.
Rudy Funk has spoken to Adams about his future and the Boro chief is confident that he will remain at Queensgate for the forseeable.
Funk said: “I have had a chat with Tommy about the situation and he was as surprised as me. It is a bit early in the season for seven days to be put in for a player, but that is where we are.
“Tommy is delighted to be at Scarborough so we have just decided to move on.”
One player has departed Boro though, with midfielder Jimmy Ghaichem taking the step up to sign for Evo-Stik Premier side Frickley.
Funk added: “In pre-season Jimmy told me that due to work he was struggling to commit to what we want at Scarborough Athletic.
“He has played a couple of games for Frickley and he has opted to stay there.
“Jimmy goes with our blessing and he knows that the door is always open because he has done a great deal for our club.”
