PREMIER PREDICTIONS: Gregory pulls clear at the top

Sports reporter Daniel Gregory continued his quest for Premier Predictions glory last weekend when he picked up an impressive three-point haul.

Gregory stretched his lead by jumping up to nine points, leaving Bridlington Town’s Mitch Cook, Scarborough Athletic’s Rudy Funk and deputy sports editor Martin Dowey in his wake.

Funk leapt up to joint second alongside Cook on five points, while Dowey’s one point pushed him up to four for the season.

The quartet will be keen to boost their totals this weekend when they pick from five of the Premier League’s matches.

The big sides are all in action, with Manchester United taking the trip to Aston Villa and Chelsea hosting Liverpool.

Manchester City entertain Spurs, Newcastle are at home to West Ham, while Nigel Adkins will be looking to bring a bit of job security when Southampton tackle Swansea on their own turf.
