STRIKER Paul Provins went nap when he helped himself to five goals as his West Pier side defeated Star 13-1 away from home in division one.

Martin Cooper banged in a hat-trick for Paddy Parke’s side while forward Neil Thomas claimed a brace.

Also on target were Sam Smart, Gary Thomas and Dan Jones.

Kyle May scored the consolation effort for Star.

Trafalgar are still hot on the heels of West Pier after they hammered Strongwood 5-1.

Strongwood took an early lead when Martyn Ferrey found the back of the net.

Traf were level when Wayne Aziz scored with a neat finish from inside the box.

And the hosts were 2-1 ahead before the break when player-boss Liam Salt netted his first of the game.

Traf dominated in the second half and Salt added another three goals to his name as the home side emerged with a 5-1 win.

Salt said: “It was another good win for us and the charge goes on so we must keep picking up the victories.”

Newlands game with Hunmanby Hornets was called off as Hunmanby failed to raise a team.

Newlands official Hughie Brown said: “We are very disappointed that they called the game off because some of our lads wanted to get their bans out of the way ahead of a final, but there is nothing we can do about it.”
