SCARBOROUGH Town boss Shaun Rennison has received a major boost going into the back end of their season after skipper Ricky Nock rejected the overtures of Scarborough Athletic.
Nock, along with influential midfielder Jamie Patterson, who turned down a possible move to Pickering Town recently, will instead try and fire Town to the Humber Premier First Division title at the first attempt, while also looking to pick up some cup silverware.
Town tackle Hessle United in the quarter-final of the League Cup as they look to secure the double in their first season back in competitive action.
Boss Rennison said: “It’s great news for us that both Ricky and Jamie are staying put.
“If players want to leave that’s fine but they’ve both said they’re enjoying their football at the moment and want to stay and help us win the title.
“We’re 14 points clear at the moment and I’d like us to open up a big gap before we go into our quarter-final so we can concentrate on that.
“We need to keep working hard and maintain the form that’s got us here.”
