RUDY FUNK: Boro fans stay constant after rollercoaster week

This has been a week of highs and lows for Scarborough Athletic on the field.

We took on a Conference North side in Telford at the weekend and, though we didn’t get the result we wanted, the lads did us proud.

Our fans played a huge part on the day, as they have since I arrived at this club.

They deserve days like that which is why we are working extremely hard to make that the case. We have to stay level-headed though you have to do these things step by step.

I was impressed once again by our fans on Tuesday night when we played Pickering Town in the North Riding FA Senior Cup.

It was a freezing night, England were playing Germany on television and people knew that we would not be fielding a full-strength side, yet 145 fans still turned out for the game.

It just shows the commitment to the cause that our core supporters give.

Overall that was a fantastic evening and it was great to once again see some of our younger lads in action, this was another step forward.
