Saturday was a great day for the fans, the community and the future of football in Scarborough.
It made it extra special for me when everyone ran on the pitch at the end and a gent of around 50 came up and hugged me with tears in his eyes.
If you can affect people in such a way and make them so happy, then we haven’t done a bad job this season.
There are three factors that are very important to me. The chairman, the board and the fans.
If they are all happy with the progress made then we can continue to push on.
Darren France and myself are waiting to be given the green light and then we can start preparing for the Evo-Stik.
We will be hoping to make a few changes and bring a few in so we can complete.
I don’t think attracting players will be a problem. I have had around 1,000 message from people who are interested, which is flattering to the colours of Scarborough Athletic.
This may be a new club, but Scarborough football has a history and people want to be a part of that.
If you look at the people who have managed clubs from Scarborough in the past it makes me proud to have my name lined up with them.
We are just starting this thing up now, in years to come we will look back on this and this achievement.
This is something that was started by Brian France and brought on by former chairman Richard Adamson and I dedicate it to them.
It it vital that we all continue to stick together and press forward as a unit.
I would also like to say a big thank you to the people from across the country who gave their overwhelming support for us over the past few weeks.
The good lucks and the congratulations meant a lot to me and everyone at the club.
