The football side of the season may have come to an end but it is business as usual for me and my coaching staff at Scarborough Athletic.
I have no holidays planned, but we will be having a break and expecting a good night at our presentation evening on May 16.
After that the season will be at an end, but Paul Foot, Bryan Hughes and myself will begin our preparations for 2014-2015.
I will be meeting Paul and Bryan over the next few days and we will put together a rough idea of what we need to be doing.
We will compare what we have, what we need and also what we are trying to achieve.
It is all about planning ahead, which is vital at Scarborough Athletic because people want to see us progress to the highest level possible.
I believe the club has made a great decision in appointing Paul and Bryan as assistant managers.
You always look for people who can bring something to the table. Both add another dimension and both are hugely experienced.
Paul is a massive name in non-league football, which is invaluable to us, while Bryan has played in the Premier League for a number of seasons, so he brings that with him.
On the playing side I will be happy if everyone stays on and we will also be looking to bring in reinforcements to freshen things up as well.
We need more steel and more experience, though we will also be looking to youth next season.
I went with Bryan to Bishop Burton at the weekend to watch our under-18s in their cup final and we were both pleasantly surprisedby the amount of quality on show.
Next pre-season we will be inviting four five or maybe six of our younger players down to give things a go.
There are a number of players who are big enough, strong enough and have the ability.
We have put things in place to bring the youth system on, now we just need to be patient.
