At the start of this season I was confident that we would have a strong squad when we reached this stage.
In pre-season we had a squad that I thought would get us a top five finish, then we progressed, making changes when we needed to and playing some decent football along the way.
It became clear that we needed a few more experienced lads and players with a little more quality, so I sat down with Darren France and we brought in the right type of player at the right time.
A lot of people worry about what the rest of the players will think when quality players arrive, I don’t.
That is football. I am more concerned about trying to achieve what we are trying to achieve.
There will be no sympathy for me if we are sitting in mid-table.
Saturday’s performance against Pickering Town just underlined that perfectly, as when we were 2-1 up in the closing stages, the likes of Tony Hackworth, Denny Ingram and Bryan Hughes just kept that ball.
They know the passes to play, they know how to hold it up and they know how to grind out the points.
Hopefully the quality in our squad will be enough to get us where we want to be.
