Saturday League side Scalby have pulled out of their friendly with Scarborough Athletic Reserves.

The game, scheduled for July 27, was set to be a part of a double-header at Scarborough RUFC’s Silver Royd, as the warm-up to Boro’s first team tackling a Scarborough & District League XI.

Scalby opted to pull out due to a long-running wrangle between the club’s chairman Pete Afford and Scarborough RUFC.

They are in the process of being replaced.

A two-course lunch is still available on the day for fans, comprising of soup, followed by steak pie and vegetables.

Tickets for the lunch in the club’s Qdos Suite are priced at £8 per person and must be booked in advance.

These tickets can be ordered via Boro’s website or by contacting director Nick Finch at the next two pre-season friendlies against Hull City on Saturday and Bridlington Town.
