Unbeaten Scarborough News Sunday League second division leaders Shakespeare will head to Filey Community Sports Club this weekend to tackle their closest rivals, West Riding.

Col Jenkinson’s squad is packed full of high-quality players, such as Dane Ramos, Tom Scales, and Ryan Cooper, and they will be eager to add some breathing space between themselves and second-placed Riding, who suffered their first loss of the season at Fylingdales last weekend, the villagers beating them 5-2.

Jamie Patterson may also feature for Shakespeare, who also have plenty of goalscoring power in the shape of Jon Cairns and Mikey Barker.

Billy Johnson’s Riding outfit will be looking to bolster their chances of moving into the top flight, and with the likes of Mikey Anderson, Rich Tolliday and Gareth Sygrove likely to play, Sunday’s clash could be action-packed.

Also in division two, Ayton will be looking to climb off the foot of the table with a win at fellow strugglers West Pier Reserves, while Trafalgar Reserves play host to Sun Inn.

Trafalgar will be aiming to bounce back from their loss at Filey Flyers with a win at basement club Strongwood in division one, while Flyers will be eager to build on that success in their home game against Seamer.

In division three, leaders Whitby Wanderers are at Newlands Reserves, while second-placed Commercial entertain West Riding Reserves and third play fourth in the Cayton v Filey Flyers Reserves match. The final game in the division sees bottom-placed Castle play host to Scarborough Sports.

All the games will kick off at 10.30am.
