Scarborough Athletic joint-managers Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot are set for showdown talks with the board as they bid to hang onto their roles at the club.

Boro’s decline has been swift since a superb start to the current Evo-Stik North season.

After winning four games in a row at the start of the season, they have departed all of the major cup competitions and have picked up just 10 points from a possible 39.

Boro’s board are now seeking to haul the club back on track. The initial plan is to do this under Foot and Hughes, but should the poor run continue then action may have to be taken.

Chairman Dave Holland said: “Bryan and Paul are still the managers, but they will have to provide us with robust solutions to halt our slide and turn our season around.

“It is their responsibility to give us a plan to turn this around and our responsibility is to support them.

“It has reached the point where this is affecting our season, our gates and the morale of the fans.

“At the moment we’re on the horns of a dilemma at the club.

“We are not in a position to spend our way out of this, but we have to find the balance because the vast majority of our fans are very frustrated.

“We will discuss ideas with the managers and hope that they can create this balance of securing results and sticking to our financial constraints, otherwise we may have to take measures.”
