With the under-15s league cup semi-final away at Copmanthorpe postponed, and the under-14s County Cup final also falling victim to the weather, it was all league action for the Scarborough Ladies FC junior sides last weekend.

The under-12s were the pick of the bunch this week, holding second-placed York RI to a 1-1 draw courtesy of club top-scorer Daisy Stokoe’s 26th goal of the season.

The top-corner finish from outside the area was no less than the team deserved after a great performance.

The under-16s defeated top-placed Ripon City Panthers 2-1 in division two of their age group.

The win - with goals from Emma Leckie and Rhian Cattermole - saw Colin Hepples’ side leapfrog Ripon into top spot, with a game in hand also.

The side featured Abbey Frederiksen in goal, as regular keeper Sasha Woods was in London for a trial with Chelsea Ladies under-19s.

Victory away at Wetherby next week will secure the league title if Ripon fail to win at York RI.

The under-14s were also in action, going down 5-1 at home against league leaders Brayton Belles, Phoenix Sykes scoring the consolation goal for her seventh of the season.

In the senior section, the much anticipated local derby between the club’s open age side away at Fishburn Park of Whitby was postponed due to the weather.

This week the seniors face South Park Rangers on Thursday, and Guisborough on Sunday, as they round off their home fixtures in their first season back in the North Riding Women’s League.

Finally, a bag pack at Morrisons on Sunday helped the club raise £625 for club funds.

Thanks go out to the players, parents and coaches who attended.
