Ben Luntley’s and Ryan Cooper’s men were reinstated into the competition after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the last eight due to their opponents Thornaby fielding ineligible players, and will now take on either Grangetown or The Cleveland in the final at Stokesley after beating West Two 5-4 on penalties.

Newlands led 1-0 through Drew McCoubrey, who followed up Stew Bates’ headed effort that had been palmed away by the West Two keeper and fired in.

It was 1-1 just after the break after West Two levelled matters up, but Park battled back into the lead though as McCoubrey fired in from the penalty spot.

West Two restored parity after they lumped a long ball forward that wasn’t dealt with properly by the Newlands defence and a visiting forward fired in to level matters up and send the game straight to a penalty shoot-out.

Bates, Stefan Moon, Chris Mann, Kyle May and McCoubrey all made no mistake from the spot, and man of the match Callum Myers saved West Two’s last effort to send Newlands through to the final, much to the delight of Luntley.

He said: “We’re delighted to be in the final, this is the competition you want to win at the start of the season.
“It’ll no doubt be a tough game, but that’s what you expect when you get to a final.

“We lost 2-1 a few years ago and we have some bad memories of that night, so we’ll be looking to put that right.”

Newlands’ division one title rivals Trafalgar cruised to a 5-1 win at home to Whitby Wanderers, despite fielding a scratch side.

Two first-half strikes from Chris Dove and a Sean Exley effort handed them a 3-0 lead at the break.

Wanderers hit back through a Ben Wilson effort from the edge of the box, but two goals in the last 15 minutes gave Traf breathing space.

Pier led 2-1 at the break before they opened up a more commanding lead after the break.

Josh Sands hit back to make it 2-1, but Mike Hyde volleyed in from a corner to hand Commercial a 3-1 lead at the break.

Itis Itis dominated after the break with the wind at their backs, Isaac Sands hitting two and Luke Chambers also bagging a brace, his second coming with the last kick of the game as he smashed in from distance to finish things off at 5-3.

Paul Oldroyd was Itis Itis’ man of the match.

Mikey Barker put in a five-star effort as Trafalgar Reserves continued their charge for the division two title with a 6-2 win against Hull Uni.

It was all square the interval, Barker nipping in behind the Uni defence and dinking over the keeper before the away side levelled up.

Traf took over after the break, Barker hammering in a further three goals to make it 4-1 before debutant Phil Warnett made it 5-1.

Dave Jenkins was named as Traf’s man of the match while Kyle O’Toole also stood out.

Roscoes Bar bagged a 4-0 win at home to Scarborough Spa.

It was 1-0 to Bar after 10 minutes, Sean Rowley firing in.

Ayton followed their stunning win against Trafalgar with an 11-5 success against Scarborough Sports Barrowcliff.

It was 6-1 to the home side at the break and they never looked back.

West Riding maintained their promotion charge with a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Newlands Reserves.

It was goalless at the break in a game of few chances, but when Jacob Codling was sent in on goal, he made no mistake in finding the bottom corner.

Curtis Rose’s strike made it 2-0 and wrapped up the scoring.

Unimpressed manager James Prethero couldn’t single anyone out as his side rested players ahead of their Goalsports Trophy semi-final against Trafalgar Reserves next Sunday.

A last-gasp leveller handed Heslerton a share of the spoils from their home clash against Fylingdales Reserves.

Dan Blanchard’s strike handed Heslerton the lead, but Dales hit back and the sides went in on level pegging at the break.

Dales looked to have won the clash when they netted in the 89th minute from the penalty spot, but Dean Storry’s men weren’t to be denied and substitute Mikey Webster stabbed in during a melee in the box to grab them a point in stoppage time.

Storry picked out Tom Peel and Ross Flinton after their efforts on the left flank and at centre-back respectively.

Alma and Cayton shared the points after a 2-2 draw.

All four goals came in the first half as Alma twice led and Cayton hit back on both occasions.

Player-boss Phil Clothier nipped in to give Alma the lead, but Jon Hodgson levelled for Cayton.

Debutant Jordan Pratt re-established Alma’s lead, but again Cayton hit back, this time through player boss John Best.

Cayton dominated after the break, but it was Alma who had the chance to take all three points when they were awarded a penalty, but Clothier’s effort was well saved.

Goalkeeper Jordan Wood stood out for Alma after a string of superb saves.
