A Jamie Patterson hat-trick helped fire Trafalgar into top spot in the Scarborough News Sunday League first division last night.

Pickering Town ace Patterson banged in his three goals during the 5-0 home win against basement club Itis Itis.

Traf are now top of the league standings, two points ahead of rivals Newlands Park, who have five games to play, while Liam Salt’s leaders have four matches remaining.

Fellow Pikes star Billy Logan also netted for the pacesetters last night, while Danny White completed the scoring for the hosts.

Traf can pull further clear with a win at Fylingdales on Sunday as Newlands are in Kenward Cup semi-final action at West Pier.
