NEWLANDS booked their spot in the final four of the Kenward Cup with a 5-1 success at third division title-chasers Victoria.
Jamie Gallagher’s strike put the top-flight visitors ahead in a keenly-contested first half.
Newlands dominated the second half, with striker Ryan Cooper smacking in a hat-trick and Gallagher firing home his second to cap the win.
Mikey Anderson scored a penalty for Victoria, but it was only a consolation effort. Kane Seavers saved another Victoria spot-kick on his way to winning the man-of-the-match award.
Filey Flyers claimed a 3-1 home win against Tonics.
After a goalless first half, it was Tonics who took the lead on the hour mark when Paul Mills shot past Flyers keeper Robbie Harrison.
The hosts levelled in the 70th minute through a 20-yard shot from Phil Dickens.
Flyers went in front with two minutes remaining when Tom Haxby scored direct from a corner, and in injury-time Matty Dickens made it 3-1 after a swift counter-attack.
Chris Hannam had a fine game in midfield for Tonics.
West Pier beat Star 1-0 in the second round to book their place in the quarter-finals.
Hosts Pier had to defend well in the opening 25 minutes, as Star piled on the pressure, despite playing with only 10 men.
The visitors’ 11th man arrived just before the half-hour mark, and just a few minutes later Pier scored the only goal of the game, Mikey Barker firing home his shot.
Both teams had chances in a very open second half, but none were taken so Pier moved into the next round.
Barker and midfielder Aaron Rose shone for Pier.
