Edgehill and West Pier’s rewards for their North Riding FA Saturday Challenge Cup first round wins on Saturday are away draws in the second round of the competition.
Pier, who hammered Askrigg United 7-1 in the cup at the weekend, make the trip north to face Eskvale and Cleveland League leaders Hollybush United.
This will be a tougher challenge for Andy Spivey’s team as United defeated Kader 5-2 in their first round fixture on Saturday. Hollybush have also won all five of their league matches this season scoring 29 goals and only conceding three times, so Pier will be hoping that some of their injured players are back in action by Saturday November 2, the date for all the cup fixtures.
Edgehill also won 7-1 at the weekend, their win coming at Civil Service (York) but in the second round they are on the road to Boosbeck United AC, who also play in the Eskvale & Cleveland League.
Boosbeck are in mid-table in the league, having moved into the second round due to Seamer Sports being unable to raise a full team on Saturday.
Eastfield St James, who had a bye in the first round, have been drawn at home to Leyburn United in round two.
Dave Scott’s side are in top form in the Scarborough News Scarborough and District Saturday League at the moment, so will be favourites to progress agains their Harrogate and District League division one opponents.
Whitby Fishermen’s Society are the fourth and final side from the Scarborough League left in the competition, and they are also at home, their visitors being Dalton Athletic.
The Whitby side may well have a tough task in this game as Harrogate and District League division one side Dalton won 5-2 at Carperby Rovers, although Athletic are rooted to the bottom of their division at present.
