A Billy Logan double helped Trafalgar earn a 4-1 win at Village Park Rangers in the North Riding FA Sunday County Cup second round.
Logan gave the visitors the lead in the 25th minute with a curling free-kick, Traf having dominated the first half at the Thornaby-based club.
Rangers levelled after the break, but Danny Glendinning restored Traf’s lead straight from the re-start.
In the 80th minute, Rangers had the ideal chance to level the scores when they were awarded a spot-kick, but Traf player-boss Liam Salt saved the Rangers penalty to maintain the Scarborough side’s slender lead.
Five minutes later Logan struck his second goal to secure the cup win and then Lewis Taylor’s late strike completed the scoring.
Right-back Alex Sheader was named as the Trafalgar man of the match.
