Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk has shown the door to a trio of players as he looks to freshen up his side’s NCEL promotion push.
Funk has released Joel Ramm, Daz Winter and Gaz Clayton to sign for other teams.
And he is poised to enter talks with a pair of possible new signings in the shape of striker Danny Gray and Danny Frost.
Winter has made 57 appearances after arriving at the club last season.
Ramm and Clayton, who both joined at the beginning of the new term, have featured in 14 and 17 games respectively.
Former Edgehill man Ramm looks set for an immediate return to Pickering Town, the club he left to join Athletic.
Funk said: “I can’t thank these lads enough, but we need a change of direction and personnel.
“As far as I am concerned there has been no falling out. I haven’t spoken to Joel, but I am under the impression that his return to Pickering is a done deal.
“I rang both Daz and Gaz, explained the situation and wished them the best of luck.
“If any club wants to come in for them then I want to make their move as smooth as possible.
“We have to change things because we haven’t been doing ourselves justice in recent games.
“If things don’t go right then you can’t afford to stand still, you have to move.
“Everyone at the club has got to shape up because I have one aim, which is to push us into that promotion battle.”
Tadcaster striker Danny Gray turned out against former club Boro on Saturday in the 1-1 draw, while Frost has been turning out for Retford United.
Funk added: “I can talk to Danny Frost and Danny Gray now, so we will have to see how that goes.
“I also put seven days in for Ged Dalton at Pickering, but he opted to stay there and play with his mates, which was a little disappointing.”
